Knoxville Engagement Photographer
Tyler + Madison
Sometimes things don’t work out exactly as we planned. Sometimes it rains, or we run behind because everything that can go wrong seems to go wrong. But what do you do when your photographer who’s confirmed a date to meet with you to discuss your wedding cancels? Well, that’s precisely what happened to these two. I feel terrible that they were left high and dry at the last minute, but at the same time, this photographer’s loss is this Knoxville Engagement Photographer’s gain!
The thing with photography sessions, weddings, and life in general, is to expect the unexpected. Things will go wrong. It’s not if, it’s when. What separates the manageable from the unbearable is our attitude. One of my goals as a professional, and a person, is to be positive and encouraging even when I see the proverbial (or in some instances, literal) storm cloud hanging over a situation. A little change in perspective can make all the difference.
During one particularly hot summer wedding, I (and most of the wedding guests) watched as the three tier cake melted and fell- yes, FELL- over before our eyes. Nothing could have been done to save it. Everyone was holding their breath and trying to avoid telling the bride, but it was inevitable. She saw the cake. And what did she do next? She laughed. She laughed because it was funny, and ironic that this happen. She laughed because her joy mattered more. She had the right attitude. I think we all have days where we can be more like the bride laughing at her melted, slumped wedding cake, don’t you?
I’m so thankful to have met this super fun, and beautiful couple. I’m so excited and can’t wait for their wedding this July!
